Quantitative hCG testing, also known as beta hCG (ß-hCG), calculates the amount of hCG present in your blood and is used to confirm pregnancy and diagnose ectopic pregnancy, using a progesterone test.
A positive beta hCG will show that you are pregnant and will give an indication of how far advanced a pregnancy is. The human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) test identifies the hCG hormone in urine and in the blood.
The result for a Beta hCG test should be around 100 mIU/ml. When the level is lower than this, another test can be done to detect your pregnancy and identify if the levels increase between 48 to 72 hours.
Generally, the cost will be around £ 60.00 for each test.
